FNSINC612 Interpret and use financial statistics and tools

This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to access, interpret, analyse and record statistical data in the financial services industry. It encompasses producing new statistical information and reports from existing data using a range of tools and processes.

Students are required to complete all units of competency in a study block so they can meet the eligibility criteria to move onto the next study block. Students are required to enrol into each study block individually. On successful completion of each study block, you will gain a statement of attainment towards your diploma. On successful completion of all three study blocks, you will receive your diploma. The study blocks will be advised on enrolment. You will also receive a prescribed study plan to help manage your time and ensure all study blocks are completed in an acceptable time frame.

 

Course requirements

To enter this diploma of accounting course, students must be at least 18 years old and must be Australian or New Zealand Citizens or Residents.

Students are expected to have successfully completed English to Year 12 level prior to entry into their course. Students who may not have successfully completed this can demonstrate equivalency in one of the following:

  • Successful completion of a Nationally Recognised Training qualification at Certificate III level or higher; or

  • 3 years relevant industry experience in a role that requires the use of written documentation and communication.

Students in this course also must have completed the following 4 specified units, or their equivalents:

  • FNSACC321 Process financial transactions and extract interim reports

  • FNSACC322 Administer subsidiary accounts and ledgers

  • FNSACC418 Work effectively in the accounting and bookkeeping industry; and

  • FNSACC421 Prepare financial reports.

These competencies may have been achieved through the completion of the following (or their equivalent):

FNSSS00014 Accounting Principles Skill Set; or

FNS40222 Certificate IV in Accounting and Bookkeeping.
